Evidence Based Vestibular Rehabilitation Course

This 2-day course is open to PT’s, PTA’s, and student PT’s who want to advance their skills in the examination and treatment of patients needing vestibular rehab. There will be both lecture and lab time during the course. The course is Saturday, April 30th-Sunday, May 1st located at the USD campus. More details to follow after registration is complete. The deadline for registration is Saturday, April 23rd.

Course Description:

This course is intended for clinicians who would like to advance their skills in examination and treatment of patients needing vestibular rehabilitation. The course will include how to differentiate between central and peripheral deficits, per-form differential diagnosis and evidence-based treatment options for BPPV, vestibular hypo-function, habituation for certain central disorders. The course will also include the most recent evidence available in vestibular rehabilitation for discussion on how to treat conditions such as vestibular migraine, Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD/3PD), Mal de Debarquement Syndrome (MdDS), post-concussion syndrome, cervicogenic dizziness, and COVID 19 related dizziness. There will be both lecture and lab time to allow participants to practice learned techniques, discuss and integrate the material with real patient cases, try vestibular goggles as an assessment tool, and gain confidence and comfort with treating patients with vestibular deficits.
