Occupational Therapy
Exemplary, quality care at every visit...
When an individual is in pain or their mechanics just aren't working the way they should be, the goal is always to get back to the way things should be. By focusing on people as individuals, we succeed in getting patients to resume a healthy, active lifestyle.
That’s our goal for each and every individual who comes into BST.
Big Stone Therapies offers occupational therapy services designed to help people of all ages recover, maintain, and return to activities of proper, comfortable daily living.
What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy is client-centered rehabilitation that identifies strengths and impairments in the ability to perform self-care home management, work and leisure activities that result from a developmental condition, injury, or disease. Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. What do occupational therapists do?
Occupational therapists work with individuals across the lifespan to address-fine motor coordination, sensory impairments, strength and range of motion deficits, cognitive impairments, and independence in activities of daily living- also called occupations.
Occupational therapists work with children with delays in development; adults with injuries, diseases, or fractures limiting work; and older adults having difficulty with maintaining independence. Occupational therapists are specialized in adaptations of the task and/or the environment, activity analysis, and incorporating functional activities into rehabilitation.
